EmoCapsule.com

Participants of EmoCapsule influence the installation by inputting their emotions at emocapsule.com. The website provides emotional statistics and trends based on frequency, location and weather data. Visitors interact with the installation which is dynamically updated to reflect the dominant emotional mood depicted through sound, text, and colour. Participants interact using their own silhouette or other objects. Noises trigger the installation to emit reactive sounds and display new words.

Overlay.TV

Intern placement at Overlay.TV which led to full time throughout the summer months as a Junior Multimedia Graphic Designer. Tasks include Flash animation and development, graphics and visual media and web development including blog customization on the Wordpress.com framework, marketing and advertising. Technologies used throughout the work term include Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Actionscript, XHTML, CSS, PHP, cURL, MYSQL, JavaScript, AJAX. Has had the opertunity to work with the Overlay.TV API, Twitter API, and Tumblr API.

Organizing Biz

Corporate branding of Organizing Biz. I designed andimplemented all print including business card, brochures and gift certificates. I designed and coded Organizing Biz online presence. I used Illustrator, Photoshop, XHTML and CSS.

Here are a few peices or graphic work either for clients or myself. They mainly consist of one peice projects rather than a set. There are also a few illustrations thrown in there as well. They were created with a mixture of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Flash

These are some example of Flash animations that I have completed. Including the defunct band Arcs online streaming audio player. Ther other were one was for the splash page of Jordanshaw.com while the other was an assignment. Look out for updates!

Jordan Shaw

A recent graduate from Carleton University and Algonquin College Bachelor of Information Technology Specializing in Interactive Multimeida and Design and New Media Arts.

I have a background in fine art, photography, graphic design and illustration and specialize in online application development / e-commerce and marketing. My understanding of both the artistic and technical aspects of new media and the web allows me to flow between both fields seemlessly contributing to both disciplines.

Having graduated from the joint program, Interactive Multimedia and Design at Carleton University and Digital Media at Algonquin College I have a strong knowledgeable and understanding of graphic arts, UI, interactive media, animation, web design and development. I gained experience throughout my post secondary education with an internship which has lasted well over a year and freelance projects. I have strong working knowledge of XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, cURL, XML, AJAX, Actionscript, Javascript and various frameworks and API's.

Being confident with using such tools as Adobe's creative suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Premiere, AfterEffects have given me the tools to allow me to produce and represent my creativity digitally. I am enthusiastic, charismatic, a quick learner and critical problem solver who thrives in fast passed environments whether working independently or in a team.

I am extremly interested in learning about new and progressive musicians, designers, artists, fashion trends and social media start ups and how we all interact with such creative mediums.
